It’s been a LONG time between posts and I must apologise for that – I’m not even sure who, if anybody, is reading my website!
Shahnoza Shakirova, one of the original members of Shahrizoda, got married sometime in 2018. This definitely explains why she is no longer a member of the group. She posted a few of these photos to her Instagram and several were found via somebody else’s page. She looks beautiful! Tabriklaymiz!
I have been a little behind on updating the site! But I thought I would post a couple of things. Shahrizoda appeared on an Uzbek TV show (not sure if it’s only on YouTube or shown on Uzbek TV?) called ‘Kichkina tanaffus’ (‘Small Recess’ – like a break at school). I believe the show involves guests answering questions like they are back in school: maths, history, geography etc. And then they are asked to put their hands into a box and feel what’s inside, and guess correctly before the time runs out! Very amusing viewing, especially when the girls are frightened of less sinister objects 😉
The current line-up of Shahrizoda (Gulnoza, Risolat and Shahnoza Y) appears alongside singer Gulasal Abdullayeva. Unfortunately I do not have English subtitles or a translation. If anybody wants to provide one, please be my guest.
To paraphrase the above text into English, the couple named her Iymona, which means ‘faith’. She was born at the Tashkent Medical Academy on the 1st of April 2014 at approximately 6.20pm. This will mean that this year their little girl will be three years old! Time flies…
A very delayed congratulations, but – tabriklaymiz Aziza va Ulug’bek!
Ulug’bek and Aziza with their baby girl Iymona, who is looking a little older! Date unknown but probably late 2014.
Shahrizoda (Risolat, Zebo and Shahnoza) with their producer (on the right).
I’m so excited to have found this. An interview with the producer of Shahrizoda (Uzbek Cyrillic), Sa’dulla Abdullayev. I was able to get an Uzbek friend to translate the part about the girls for me. It’s quite insightful.
Shu paytgacha guruhda 12 ta qiz bo‘ldi, nechtasi turmushga chiqdi va men nechta nevarali bo‘ldim! (kuladi) Shuning uchun ham, qizlarga tayinlayman, “menga bir oy vaqt beringlar” deyman.
Translation: So far, there have been 12 girls in the group who have come and left. So many of them got married, and I became a grandfather to many grandchildren (laughs). That is why I tell girls to inform me in advance (“Give me a month’s time”) in case they are going to leave.
